                                          Natural Disasters 

                                                           Sri Lanka faces various climatic conditions from time to time. The raing season and the dry season are the main ones. These climatic conditions affect each region from time to time. According to the climatic conditions in Sri Lanka , Yala and Maha are divided into two growing seasons. During the raing season the water capacity of the reservoirs increases and overflows cause flowing in some areas.

There will be huge property damage and loss of life landslides and floods also destroy the natural environment. Droughts are some times caused by a lack of rain with intense sunshine. There is no water for humans or animals to drink. Lack of water kills animals and plants , and people die from overheating.

                                            Thus it is the poor innocent people who suffer from natural disasters. There fore, people suffering from natural disasters should be helped. We must constantly help them build their lives. We should help and encourage them as much as we can. Also, since some natural disasters are caused by human activities , we must minimize the damage to the environment as much as possible.
