                                         Our village is very beautiful surrounded by several mountain ranges and lakes of great value. Located in the Kurunegala  district. We can describe polpithigama as a self-sufficient area. The Mee Oya river flows and the kahalla pallekele reserve is located in our area.

Various endemic plant species as well as animal species live there. The village temple is found while passing a beautiful paddy field. The temple has a heritage of hundreds of years. There are several tourist hotels in the area. Many locals make a living by farming. Natural disasters such as floods ,landslides and droughts do not affect our area.

There are several public schools and hospitals in the area. Due to the location of several reservoirs, water supply can be uninterrupted during droughts. Many natural resources in the area are being destroyed due to the actions of certain individuals. I am of the view that we should reduce pollution ,protect natural resources and protect our village ourselves.
